Arteries of The Bush is installed into a natural bushland setting. It's been a wonderful journey working with these beautiful curving gum tree branches, as well as the logistics of getting it securely into the earth. But I'm loving the process, and the result.
My entry into Leichhardt Council's FAST ART competition, painting division, was awarded FIRST PRIZE. The brief was to paint, draw or sculpt Parramatta Rd in 24 hours ... so glad I entered. I also won the 'people's choice' award too - what a lucky day : )
I’m totally chuffed to be a selected artist for Leichhardt Council's very first 'ART on the Greenway', this is in conjunction with their annual LOST (Leichhardt Open Studio Trail) weekend on 14-15 March 2015. The GreenWay is an urban green corridor in Sydney's Inner West linking the Parramatta River at Iron Cove to the Cooks River at Canterbury. It is a bush corridor and a hub for community arts and groups, bushcare, walking and cycling.
'ART on the Greenway' is an art trail in the Canal Rd vicinity, 300 metres or so down from Cafe Bones, 5 artists will have their environmental artwork installed along this stretch, it’s a great excuse to get out and do the ‘bay run’.
My work is titled 'WOODLAND PORTAL'
‘We are all connected in ways seen and unseen, enter the woodland portal that protects and surrounds us. Be present. Be connected.’
Hope to see you down there
