I've been getting great feedback on my environmental sculptures made from natural materials.
Woodland Portal was commissioned by Leichhardt Council as part of their Art on The Greenway LOST weekend. Enter from there and discover my other sculptural creations ... it's an ever evolving story of salvaged gum tree finds ... having new life breathed into them as I uncover their hidden stories and create new narratives based on the visual language I wish to delve into and explore.
Dream Weaver was awarded 2nd place in the sculpture trail at the 2015 Kuringai Art and Garden Festival
"This nest is built with love my dears, woven from the hopes and dreams of so many years"
Woodland Portal was awarded 3rd place in the sculpture trail at the 2015 Kuringai Art and Garden Festival
"We are all connected in ways seen and unseen. Enter The Woodland Portal that protects and surrounds us. Be present. Be connected."
Ebb and Flow was created in 2016 and entered into the Greenway Art Prize - small sculpture section.
"Take a trip of exploration into the energetic patterns and connections of our daily lives. We connect, we intersect, we are introspect, all within the ebb and flow of The Greenway."
Arteries of The Bush – created in 2016, features specially selected gum tree branches, carved, painted and tacked.
“ Our beautiful gum trees hold the stories of this great land. The country’s soul runs through them like arteries in a great ancient body.
These majestic sentinels bear witness to the ever changing story that is Australia”.
Bush Telegraph – created in 2017, was accepted into Harbour Sculpture 2017 at Hunters Hill/Woolwich. Also exhibited at Hunters Hill Art Exhibition 2017.
" Like an organically visual derivative of morse code, this ‘bush telegraph’ grouping sends silent messages throughout the forest.
The message is subliminal, you can feel it in your soul."
Family Tree – created in 2017, accepted into Bayside Arts Festival at Kyeemagh
" A celebration of where we come from and what we become. Our many wondrous stories are all interwoven within the Family Tree. To love, to learn, to act and grow, we continue to evolve."
Log On – created in 2017, another signature piece using my paint and tack method.
" Too much going on in your e-world? Take a little time out to log on to the natural world for a while."
We Stand Together – was selected /commissioned to be an installation piece for Inner West Council's 2017 'Art on The Greenway'
" We Stand Together is a sculptural metaphor for local communities bought together through shared ideals and values – standing together and strong in the face of adversity, in all its many guises. The energy we give each other through our support makes the sum of us stronger than our individual parts."
The Sum of Us – was the lucky recipient of a commission for "Eden Unearthed 2017" , on display at Eden Gardens until 28 Feb 2018.
" Some of us are a little cracked, while some of us shine bright. The Sum of Us is an environmental sculpture that represents the beauty and diversity of Australia. The timber used in the piece reflects the organic beauty of our country. The design speaks of the energy that connects us all."
